Back again is our 3rd Annual Energy & Sustainability Showcase. As part of our Doing More With Less conference theme the show will feature exhibitors who offer energy efficient techniques, green technology and sustainability products and services to school facilities.
As part of our Navigating New Territory exhibit show theme, the membership of SBGA will feature those exhibitors who offer energy and sustainability innovations to the School Facilities profession. These displays will be showcased in the Energy & Sustainability Showcase on the tradeshow floor. In this section participants will find interactive materials with the latest technology and techniques. This portion of the exhibit show floor is sponsored by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). We're also proud to offer Energy & Sustainability sessions throughout the conference program. We'll kick off the conference with our School Facilities Management Symposium, and one of the key topics is Energy Efficiency. Don't miss this general session Monday, October 5 from 11am-12:30pm, and bring your ideas and questions!
Other energy-related sessions include:
Lighting & Energy Efficiency: The Lighting Institute Speaker: Daniel Frering, Manager of Education, RPI Lighting Research Center Moderator: Matt Brown, New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA)
Time: Monday, October 5, 2-3:30pm and Tuesday, October 6, 11am-12:30pm Lighting affects the environment in a number of ways, including energy usage in school districts. Energy-efficient lighting demands less electricity, which reduces polluting power plant emissions. Join our presenter as he offers participants tools and tips to conserve energy while reducing costs.

He has received his "Lighting Certification" (LC) from the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (NCQLP). He also currently serves as a member of the Council of NCQLP.
Mr. Frering teaches courses and seminars in lighting technology, daylighting, control systems, lighting applications, and economic analysis. His current research includes the evaluation of daylighting technologies, photovoltaic outdoor lighting systems, and energy-efficient lighting for commercial buildings.
Energy Conservation 102 Speaker: Donald Fudge, Project Manager, Energy Smart Schools, TRC Energy Solutions Moderator: Tom Pollard, CDF, Horseheads CSD
