School facilities professionals play a critical role in the state's education system. Today's school buildings and campuses are complicated, and so is the job of maintaining them. SBGA supports the welfare of our State's schools, buildings and grounds, and the professionals responsible for managing our children's educational facilities.
Studies link well-maintained, healthy, and safe learning environments to greater student achievement and higher test scores. An investment in our school facilities is a sound investment in our students' future.

We've Invested in Ourselves at the 2013 Academy Series!
The 2013 School Facility Managers’ Academy Series was a great success! SBGA Members from across New York State gathered for the 8th annual Academy on December 3rd and 4th at the New York State School Board Association in Latham. The two day event with its popular two-track program gave attendees the opportunity to hear from professionals in the industry while networking with colleagues from all over the state.
The School Facility Managers’ Academy gave professionals who are new to the field of facility management, those who are looking to become a facility director in the future, and those who needed a refresher course on the latest information on code compliance, budgeting, and health and safety.
