From the President
The month of June is one of our busiest times of year. This time of year does, however, offer us a time to look back at our goals and accomplishments, and start planning for the new fiscal school year. As you do so, I encourage you to renew your membership in SBGA and continue to build relationships with colleagues throughout the state.
The summer months also provide time for professional development. Don’t miss SFMI’s Boiler Optimization training at a location near you.
Similarly, our annual conference and exhibit show is coming up this October. Be sure to register by June 30 to save a combined total of $145.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me directly with any questions or concerns. My fellow officers and I are available to assist you in any way we can, and we look forward to serving you, your district and your local chapter.
Enjoy the Summer!
In partnership,
Joseph Hammond, CDF
SBGA President

Mills, starting this year SBGA and SFMI will award one deserving Active or Affiliate member in good standing attendance at our annual School Facilities Professional Development Program and School Facilities Managers’ Academy (a value of $1,000).
The SFMI Board encourages you to nominate a particular individual within your Chapter you feel qualifies for this special honor.
Visit our website for criteria and a nomination form. Nominations for the 2009 award are due Tuesday, June 30.

Membership Dues in the Mail
Membership dues invoices for the 2009-2010 year hit mailboxes in mid-May. Now more than ever, it is important to be an active member of SBGA and your local Chapter. School districts throughout the state face uncertain economic times and as facilities directors you are constantly asked to do more with less. The relationships you develop at home and statewide are invaluable, and allow you to grow and succeed as professionals. To continue taking advantage of all membership in SBGA has to offer, please renew your membership today, and encourage your colleagues to do the same.
Welcome New Leadership
Southeastern Chapter recently elected a new State Director, Tom DiBuono (Southern Westchester BOCES), to represent them on the SBGA Board of Directors. The Chapter also elected Joe Gramando (Chappaqua Schools) as their new President. Congratulations Tom and Joe!
Tom takes over for George Kuntz (Irvington UFSD), who served as the Chapter’s State Director for the past 16 years. Thank you, George, for your years of service and dedication to SBGA and the school facilities profession. You will be missed, and we wish you all the best for the future!
